These continue on the tongue where the Syrah provides lush, upfront softness that is backed by the Cabernet's boldness and structure. The two marry together to create a wine full of fruit, body and depth.

Following in the footsteps of our 2006 vintage, the 2007 Gård Cabernet Sauvignon from our estate, Lawrence Vineyards, was aged in 100% new French oak barrels, and features a brighter, more complex Cabernet in comparison with 2006. Rich with fruit, the wine is lush and chewy. The ripe berry flavors lead to notes of chocolate, coffee beans, toffee and hints of smoked tobacco that are wrapped around well-managed tannins and new oak. The wine finishes bold, with round complexity. |

As with all great wine regions around the world, we believe that truly great wines start in the vineyard. In recognition of our vineyard crew's dedication to quality, we have named our estate red blend after vineyard forman Isidro Mondragon. This blend of 53% Syrah and 47% Cabernet Sauvignon was barrel-aged for 21 months in 55% new French oak, 12% new American oak, and 33% used French oak. The blend expresses the beauty of an elegant Syrah - smooth upfront with lots of ripe berry flavors, and hints of rose petals and spice, which is balanced with refined tannins, elegant oak, and built around the backbone of bold Cabernet Sauvignon. |

Notes from Winemaker Robert Smasne:
This 100% Estate Riesling from the Lawrence Vineyard comes from the high elevation, south-facing slope of the Frenchman Hills. The fruit was hand picked at peak maturity, gently whole cluster pressed, neutral oak fermented, and aged sur lees for seven months prior to bottling. The wine is a layered gem, rich and generous -- possessing weight and depth, with hints of fresh melons, stone fruits, citrus, green apple and honey with undertones of leesy caramel and lush minerality. This dry style Riesling (0.4%) captures the purity of fruit with a balance of racy acidity. This wine will continue to develop for years to come.
